I can’t decide if this sweet little child is named Isa Black, or if the photographer was named such. It’s difficult to tell on the back of the card whether the name was handwritten, or printed. The child is probably a girl, what with the straight part in the center of the head, so that rules her out as being named Isa, I suppose. Her infant dress is detailed with buttons, a wide collar and ruffled hem, and you can just see the petticoat poking out from underneath. Regardless of whether this was a girl or a boy, the dress would have been worn by both genders. You can also see a little necklace just laid over the collar.
Isa Black was a photographer in Franklin, Pennsylvania in 1880.
