Who Were They?

Lost and forgotten photos from the past

This photo is identified as the Ute Chief bottling works, Mountboro, Colorado. I like that it is a rather artistic. Is it a bottle of champagne exploding? Is it a bottle in front of a fountain? Is it a massive bottle fountain? There are buildings on the ridge in the background, I assume some part of the bottling works.

I was running late this morning and didn’t have much time to make this post, so please forgive my laziness! The Ute Chief Bottling Co bottled mineral water in Colorado beginning in the 1890s. In 1944 the building burned down and was rebuilt in 1947. Apparently, antique bottles from this company are collectors items. Wonder if a photo of a bottle is?

I have a vintage Ute Chief Bottling Company bottle in excellent condition. The bottle is of purple glass with the letters embossed. There are no flaws or chips. I can post a photo if you would like to see it.
