April snow is not the name of anyone, just that this photograph was dated April 22, 1901 and it shows a yard covered in snow. This type of photograph is possibly an example of an early snapshot. The camera was more available for personal use after the turn of the century, and this photo doesn’t seem to be set up in an artistic fashion as a professional photographer would have done. It feels like an amateur photo. I believe once the person had their film completed, they took it to a photographer or studio for development and mounting. I hope for our neighbors in northerly climes that they don’t experience April snow next year!
