Who Were They?

Lost and forgotten photos from the past

This sweet face could melt the polar ice caps she is so cute! The girl is around 1 1/2 to 2 years old by my guess and is wearing an adorable muffin cap, dress, saggy stockings and Mary Jane style shoes. The photo is a real photo postcard with the AZO triangles pointing up, so this can be dated as late as 1918. Her surroundings are interesting. Do you think that is a rocking chair by the hearth? On the porch?

My first impression when I saw this photograph was that this was the same person in the “unhappy baby” picture a couple entries ago – and what a difference a hat makes.

P.s., given the carpeting under the chair, I don’t think this is the porch.

  3. I look at this adorable face and I can easily imagine it playing a part in a silent movie.

  4. I bet it is in a summer kitchen or a porch off a summer kitchen. I don’t see carpet..I may see a really old linoleum or just concrete. She is a doll and I bet whoever got this postcard loved it! :)
