Who Were They?

Lost and forgotten photos from the past

I’m not completely sure what this was called, but it looks like a stroller or walker of some type. The toddler is standing, but there appears to be a seat. The front wheels are directed sideways, but perhaps they rotate forward as well. The canvas to the back of the contraption looks a lot like a vacuum cleaner bag to me, haha, but I’m guessing it was a folded back sun shade/cover. This photo is great, you can even see the diaper pins on the cloth diaper – a thing of the past for most new mothers these days!

Three children and an adult in the backyard. I love the old style tricycle with the enormous front wheel. There is a swing set as well. A fun and normal afternoon in Anytown, USA.

Cute kid having fun on a spring day. You can just see the pedals of the front wheel right around the cuff of the child’s pants. I love the rolled cuffs and brimmed hat. However, I can’t imagine the seat of this fine three wheeled conveyance was all that comfortable as it looks to be a board.

Sanger Police 1964

You may remember this photo from a few weeks back. Lots of people found good information on the Sanger Police Department, and at that time I called and spoke to one of the secretaries there. She offered to send an email around the department letting folks know about the photo, and I didn’t think much more of it. I was hopeful someone would contact me though. Well, just last week, Chief Silver Rodriguez of the Sanger Police left a comment on the original post, and he and I spoke on the phone. The photo and a high quality scan of the photo are headed back to where it all began – Sanger, CA!

Here’s a great looking dog. Is it a mutt or is it a Jack Russell terrier? Something in between perhaps. I love that you can see the shadow of the person holding the dog’s attention so that another person can take the photo. This image is undated and there is no location.
