Who Were They?

Lost and forgotten photos from the past

This lovely side profile was made by Williams Fine Portraits in Pueblo, CO. Note that the address is on the opposite end of Union Ave from the Bottomly Studio, whose image we looked at last time. The two businesses are with .3 miles of each other. The area was once the main business district of Pueblo, or possibly the red light district depending on the generational era. Until the 1920s, it was a thriving business district. Then a massive flood of the Arkansas river occurred. It was so large Union Ave was under 10 feet of water and the course of the river changed by half a mile. The town rebuilt their business district on Main St.
