Who Were They?

This tintype makes me think of the families who are “trying” for a girl. We see an older boy, a younger boy and then a girl. However, I believe that thinking might be a more modern approach to child bearing. While the boy’s clothing looks almost modern, the girl is definitely wearing Victorian era clothing.
