Who Were They? 
That’s a toughie, as you say… The name could be Jack or John and it could be the little boy (if its a boy) or his dad.
I think its the little boy’s name – one of those “cute-sey” cards. :) I like how the little toy car is in the picture – would you say this “boy” is about 4-5 years old?
There is a Jack T. Mackinlay of about 4 years old (at the time of the photo) living in Du Bois, Clearfield, Pennsylvania ….
