Who Were They?

Lost and forgotten photos from the past

This little snapshot is of a handsome Army man and a lady in a nice suit. I can’t be sure of her age, so she could be his mother or his wife. The way she is holding his arm, I’m leaning toward mother. The photographer managed to capture the side of the house and the front window quite nicely. The arch over that window makes me think vintage California suburbs with the Spanish influence.

This is an oddly framed photograph. The garden hose behind the soldier’s leg could have been moved from view.

I think the lady is his wife (just to be contrarian) but wouldn’t be surprised if the scene was California. The woman looks like she has a hangnail or something in that one hand.

P.s., The man might be wearing a navy uniform. All branches of the service wore the garrison hat and khaki summer uniform.

  3. I guess brother and sister..he is home on leave visiting her:)
