I missed the last two Sepia Saturdays due to lots of stuff going on and not enough time in front of my computer for play (lots of time for work tho). I’m happy to be back! The theme photo this week is Dinah Shore and Burt Bacharach playing tennis in Florida. Well, I searched three antique shops for vintage photos of people playing tennis, postcards from Florida, sports, etc., and nothing spoke to me.
Then I remembered this photo of my Uncle Pete which always makes me think of Clark Kent.
He’s even got the curl on the forehead. Do you think he was taking advantage of the popularity of the Superman stories and television show?
I sure do.
Ahhh! The days of Vitalis and Brylcreem!

I usually look at the picture first because I want to see if the caption is fitting. But the first thing I saw/said was “Uncle Pete!” I was right. So are you, he could be Clark Kent’s brother. He’s not. He’s Bert’s brother. But that’s a different story. Great pic!

Handsome – even better than Clark Kent.

I agree with Wendy. As well as being very handsome, his eyes and slight smile impart a feeling of intelligence and understanding.

But, did he ever get changed in a telephone kiosk?

If he did change in a telephone box I’m sure we would have heard about it.

Cute and he looks like a nice and fun man … with a twinkle in his eye. I’m sure that he was a hero to his nieces and nephews!

Uncle Pete’s curl is Superman’s not Clark’s. Clark Kent had glasses, and that was what really fooled people. Except Lois Lane whose suspicions about Clark might have been really confused with Pete.
